PILLAR FIVE

FUTURE EXPANSION

Family Justice & Healing.

Helping families find safety, stability, and justice.

Supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, child abuse, and family violence by strengthening access to justice, improving family safety, and providing culturally responsive advocacy and healing services.

This pillar recognizes that justice is more than a court decision — it is restoring safety, dignity, and hope for families affected by violence.

THE WHY

Justice restored looks like a family safe at home.

Systems designed to protect survivors often re-traumatize them. Court dates without support. Safety planning without cultural grounding. Legal referrals that don’t understand tribal jurisdiction.

Family Justice & Healing is being built to sit alongside survivors — not just to point at the door of a courthouse, but to walk through it with them. And to keep walking, long after the case closes.

Programs May Include

A network of support — not a single service.

These programs are being designed now, in partnership with survivors, advocates, tribal courts, and legal-aid organizations. They will roll out as capacity, partnerships, and funding align.

01

Family Justice Navigators

One-on-one support helping families navigate the systems they encounter after violence.

02

Court Accompaniment

Trained advocates sit alongside survivors through hearings, so no one faces the courtroom alone.

03

Safety Planning

Personalized safety plans built around each family’s real circumstances — not a checklist.

04

Civil Legal Referrals

Warm handoffs to legal-aid partners for protection orders, custody, housing, and immigration.

05

Child & Family Advocacy

Advocacy for children caught in family violence, including CPS involvement and court dependency.

06

Healing Services for Children

Trauma-informed, culturally-grounded services for children who witness or experience violence.

07

Supervised Visitation & Safe Exchange

Partnerships with local supervised-visitation centers so exchanges never put a family at risk.

08

Court & Professional Training

Training for judges, attorneys, and system professionals on trauma-informed, culturally-responsive practice.

09

Indigenous Trauma-Informed Response

Response protocols grounded in Diné and other Indigenous teachings — not just Western frameworks.

10

Survivor Support Groups

Peer-led circles where survivors find each other, tell their truth, and remember they are not alone.

CURRENT STATUS

In the planning & partnership phase.

This pillar is being built deliberately, with survivor voice at the center. We are actively talking with tribal courts, family justice centers, legal-aid organizations, and healing practitioners to make sure future programming meets families where they are.

If you are a survivor, an advocate, or work in family justice — we want to hear from you. The shape of this pillar will be set by the people closest to it.
